Abstract
Storage security breach incidents have become a common phenomena in the realm of computerized information systems. Almost every day, there are reports of such breach incidents, when valuable business, credit card, health, and personal information/records are stolen or exposed.
In this work, we analyzed storage security breach incidents over an 18 month long period, and found interesting patterns in the breach incidents. This analysis provided a high level and summarized view of such attacks, and gave insights into the nature of the incidents.
Based on our research, we created an open database/dataset for other researchers which can be downloaded from here.
